England, SHEFFIELD, St Marie's Cathedral

The Cathedral Church of St Marie, SHEFFIELD. This is where I retreated to out of the cold yesterday afternoon. It was designed by Matthew Ellison Hadfield - the founder of the firm of architects I worked for from 1984 to my retirement 144 days ago - Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson. According to Wikipedia it was built from 1846 - 1850. They don't build them like that nowadays!

ENGLAND, Sheffield, Surrey Place

That's me on the Sheffield sketchcrawl. I'm sporting my (3) fingerless gloves knitted by my daughter in Colorado Springs. I've been colder - but I had to sketch inside in the afternoon (images to follow). I lowered my hood for the photo - the only bits of me exposed when I was drawing were my nose and 3 fingers. The best thing about sketchcrawling is that it does make you get up and draw no matter what the temperature is outside.
